XXIII General Chapter - July 14th

14 July 07

We would like to share some echoes of the wonderful day we had yesterday. We returned home tired, but immensely happy. For several days our work had been intense, reflecting, sharing in small groups and in plenary sessions. So we needed very much to go away and get a breadth of fresh air. We set out for Bilbao by coach and visited the two communities of Marie Reparatrice there. It was a wonderful family reunion. Our sisters in San Adrien and Las Arenas welcomed us with much affection and in this web page we would like to record our deep gratitude and appreciation. We also made a pilgrimage to the shrine of “Nuestra Señora de Begoña”

Today we continued our work in small groups and plenary seesions. Towards the end of the morning S.Elisa Calderón presented a project for the accompaniment of the Lay Associates of the congregation. S.Christine Barrière had already commissioned this work. It will be offered to the entire congregation as there are lay persons in several countries who wish to live the charism of Reparation with Mary. The project will be studied by a team which is already in place.

A Celebration of the Word drew our day to a close. Our Mexican sisters prepared it and invited us to share in twos, the moments during these days when we felt “our hearts burning within us” (cf Luke 24,32)

We are now entering a period of silence, prayer and discernment which precedes the Election of a new General Council. We know we can count on your prayer. We will not be sending any further communications during the next four days.

S.Martha de la Torre wishes to express her gratitude to all those who sent messages of affection and prayer on the occasion of her mother’s illness. Her mother remains in a critical condition but is stable.
