INTERNATIONAL MEETING SMR IN STRASBOURG :
"Advance in the light of the moment »
We were filled with added joy to meet in Strasbourg from 2nd to 8th July 2014 between different members of international communities in Europe: Rome,(Sr. Elisabeth Katunge, sr.Lucie Ravoavy) Tudela, Spain (Sr. Apolline Namukisa) Strasbourg (Sr.Odette Rasoanantenaina, Sr. Justine Namuyanja, Felicity Namakula, Sr. Maria Stella Nabweteme, Sr. Regina Napareng)
The theme of the meeting was,
"COMMITMENT"
We started with the sharing of our lived experiences in Religious life and apostolic commitments. Each of us had prepared her own story in a power point. It was interesting and touching to know the reality of one another in our sharing.
We really experienced it deeply, it was a chance for us to learn more about the different evolutions and history of our congregation as an institution of Apostolic life, how we were and how we are now in the church , for example ;
ü The suppression of the 2 degrees in 1965 - Apostolate is all the sisters
ü The acknowledged necessity of diversity in the way of life and commitment in activities
ü The beginning of small communities, remunerative work
ü Reference to Mary as a committedwoman (Magnificat)
ü Reference to Eucharist in all its dimensions : fraternity, justice, welcome ...
ü The reference to Ignatian spirituality is permanent
We talked about the commitment of mother Emilie; her acceptance of the reality (she did not choose the path marriage but she embraced it as a gift from God). Dispossession of her projects (the only thing she longed for was to be united to God) "she advances in the light and grace of the moment" with faith and trust in God.
We also understood the importance of discernment which helps us to make the right choices or decisions through the "THREE TIMES" recommended by the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
We were glad, touched, and moved by the testimonies of different people engaged in various services ;
Mgr Vincent Dollmann, auxiliary Bishop of Strasbourg, who celebrated Mass on Thursday 3, Father Basil, Orthodox priest and his wife Josephine, Sister Claudine, a protestant sister, Nadia, an irakian, consecrated Virgin living in France , Blandine and Elie, a couple. They all focused on trust in God, on vocation, on discernment, on prayer, forgiveness and reconciliation in their sharing with us their spiritual life and apostolic commitment.
Our sincere gratitude goes to Srs Christine Barrière and Micheline Rossignol who organized this meeting. Thank you very much, dear sisters, you facilitated the session with lots of creativities, questions, confirmations, information from time to time, which really helped us to deepen our Ignatian spirituality and charism of the Sisters of
"MARY REPARATRIX »
We equally thank our dear Srs. Therese, Monique ,Francis and Noëlle who helped in the kitchen, not forgetting the whole congregation who supported us in one way or the other.
We ended our meeting with a prayer of thanksgiving in the same chapel where Mother Emilie and her ten companions made their first vows.
We had to return to our respective communities after the session but, we remain united in prayer. May the Blessed Mary of Jesus and st. Ignatius guide us in our apostolic commitments for Jesus’ glory and reparation. MORE....
